Basic Life Support

For Healthcare Providers

The Basic Life Support course is designed for healthcare professionals providing patient care in various environments in both inpatient and pre-hospital locations.

Course Content:

High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants

  • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components

  • Important early use of an AED

  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device

  • Importance of teams in multi rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi rescuer CPR

  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

This course can be delivered by our Pre-hospital Practitioners (EMT, P or AP) or Clinical Nurse Manager Instructors depending on your organisation's needs.

Who Can Attend

The BLS for healthcare providers course is recommended for healthcare professionals working in pre-hospital environments and inpatient services, for example, nursing and care staff.

5 Hours

Certification

Participants who successfully pass the practical & theory assessments will receive an IHF/AHA BLS Provider Course Completion Card, valid for two years.
